With its distinctive gull wings, spatted undercarriage and mounted wailing sirens, dubbed the "Jericho Trumpet", the Stuka was instrumental in the early blitzkrieg victories of the war and became a symbol of German air-power. The Stuka had a 2-man crew that would drop bombs with astonishing accuracy. They had innovative dive brakes to slow the dive and give the pilot more time to aim his bomb, with automatic pull-up in case of g-induced blackout. Although the Stukas were very effective against ground and naval targets and were used throughout the war, they proved no match against faster enemy fighters.
This JU 87 was used mainly as a low-altitude ground attack aircraft towards the end of the war and surrendered at Furth in May, 1945 Adult collectible 14+

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0632/5000/6243/files/postage-stamp-ps5339-4-ju87-stuka-1110-698849.jpg?v=1738270257
cobi-5748-junkers-ju-87-stuka
Cobi 5748 Junkers Ju-87 Stuka

• 525 high-quality blocks

• Produced in the EU by a company with over 20 years of tradition

• The blocks meet the safety standards of products for children

• Fully compatible with other brands of construction blocks

• Blocks with prints do not scratch or smear and do not fade during play or under the influence of temperature

• Clear and intuitive instructions based on illustrations and step-by-step directions

• 100% prints, no stickers

• Historical prints!

• Special display stand

• 1 figure of a heroic American pilot

• Aircraft released under license from Northrop Grumman

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0632/5000/6243/files/cobi-5748-junkers-ju-87-stuka-123666.png?v=1738269724
pre-order-corgi-aa32520-1-72-junkers-ju87b-1-stuka-uffz-pittroff-and-uffz-scubert-battle-of-britain-85
Pre-Order Corgi AA32520 1:72 Junkers Ju87B-1 Stuka Uffz Pittroff and Uffz Scubert (Battle of Britain 85)

This fitting tribute die-cast model to the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, Junkers Ju87B-1 Stuka makes an impressive addition to your Aviation Archive collection. The area had been attacked mercilessly by German naval and air forces since the early hours.

Each Luftwaffe raid was met by strong opposition from the Royal Air Force, and this third raid was no exception. As Ju87 Stuka S2+LM was about to launch its diving attack, it suffered engine failure, causing the aircraft to immediately lose height.

At the same time, a Hawker Hurricane from No.145 Squadron attacked the aircraft, with a short, well-aimed burst from the fighter, killing the rear gunner and severing fuel lines, ensuring the pilot had to immediately look for a suitable place to set the stricken aircraft down. Landing in a field at St Lawrence, just inland from the sea, the aircraft came to rest in a wooded area, but remained relatively intact, incredibly, with its full complement of bombs still in place.

Significant as one of the Stukas which took part in the devastating raids against Convoy CW9 ‘Peewit’ in the English Channel, this particular aircraft was also the first intact Stuka to fall into British hands, and was immediately prepared for transportation to the mainland for evaluation.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0632/5000/6243/files/pre-order-corgi-aa32520-172-junkers-ju87b-1-stuka-uffz-pittroff-and-uffz-scubert-battle-of-britain-85-6194976.jpg?v=1763596258
