The F-102 first appeared in service in 1956 with the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003etask to intercept Soviet bombers. The official name for the F-102 was “Delta Dagger” but the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003emost common term used was “Deuce”. There was 889 F-102As manufactured when production \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eended in September 1958.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOn August 9, 1954 the 525th Fighter-Bomber-Squadron was re-designated 525th Fighter-\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eInterceptor-Squadron “The Fighting Bulldogs”.  On February 12, 1957 the squadron was \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003emoved to Bitburg Air Base in Germany where it stayed until 1992. In February 1959 the 525th \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFIS received its first F-102 Delta Dagger “Deuce” and used them until 1969. F-102 56-1111 c\/n \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e08-10-328 was sent to MASD (Military Aircraft Storage and Disposition) in 1975.
