In 1959 they were disestablished freeing up the name “Jolly Rogers”. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe original VF-84 was formed in 1944 as the “Wolf Gang” and deactivated in May 1945. During \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ethe Korean War VF-921 became VF-84 and then became VA-86 in 1955. A new VF-84 was \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ecreated called the “Vagabonds”. With the dissolution of VF-61, VF-84 became “Jolly Rogers”.
