COBI 2525 Rommel's Mammoth
ACV Dorchester is a large armoured command vehicle of British design. It was produced in 1941-1943. The vehicles quickly gained great popularity among the officers. Due to the spaciousness of the interior, they were called the Dorchester. This was the name of the famous London hotel. The Germans captured three such carts in North Africa and gave them the name Mamut. The functionality of the vehicle was appreciated by Erwin Rommel himself, using the vehicles during the operations in North Africa. The mobile staff equipped with communication equipment proved to be a valuable prey.
From the world of COBI comes the fantastic model of the Mamut, a powerful command vehicle of General Erwin Rommel. With 740 high blocks the model is sure to give hours of construction fun. The building techniques will be appreciated by enthusiasts. The model features, opening doors, detachable roof, a mapped interior of the mobile staff, swivel wheels and a lot of details make this model unique in the COBI Afrika Korps collection! High quality prints imitate the DAK (Deutsche Afrikakorps) colour scheme of the vehicle and really show the details of the interior and equipment.
The set includes three unique figures, which are a real treat for collectors. The figure of General Erwin Rommel is covered with detailed prints. The uniform, decorated officer's cap and facial features have been reproduced. He also comes with a pair of binoculars. Another figure is a German soldier in a tropical uniform. He has a printed scarf on his face and removable rubber goggles. He is armed with a machine pistol MP 40. The new figure of a German medic comes with a characteristic white helmet with a red cross painted on the tip. He is equipped with a stretcher, which can be used to transport the wounded.
ACV Dorchester, or Mammoth is an ideal model for building historical scenes and dioramas. The British Command Vehicles were found in Africa and on the southern front. They were also used by the Polish Armed Forces in the west. The three intercepted vehicles were used by Germans in North Africa. The mammoth is also a perfect addition to the COBI Battle Game Strategy Session. This set comes with a card that allows you to use this in the game.
