Captain Kenneth Walsh was one of the Marine Corps' leading Corsair aces and a Medal of Honor recipient. By 1945 he was flying the F4U-4 with VMF-222 from Awase on Okinawa, and this Hobby Master model captures his aircraft "Tokyo Raid" as it appeared in that final year of the Pacific war.
The F4U-4 was the last wartime Corsair, with a more powerful R-2800 engine and a four-blade propeller that pushed its top speed well past earlier versions. At 1:48 scale the gull wing, deep-blue finish and squadron markings are reproduced in fine detail.
