The De Havilland DH.98 Mosquito Mk. VI was one of the most successful combat aircraft used during WWII. The Mosquito was a British twin-engine, shoulder-winged, multi-role combat aircraft constructed almost entirely of wood. It therefor gained a nickname, The Wooden Wonder. It utilized construction that was unheard of at the time -- spruce wood, plywood and balsa covered by a doped fabric.
