Herpa Wings presents the Qantas Airbus A350-1000ULR for Project Sunrise in 1:500 scale as item 539838, registered VH-OJA "Vega". It is the first of twelve ultra long range A350s that will fly nonstop from Australia's east coast to London and New York. An extra 20,000 liter fuel tank gives the aircraft up to 22 hours of endurance. The Project Sunrise name recalls Qantas's wartime Double Sunrise flights, which stayed aloft long enough to see two sunrises. Deliveries are due in early 2027, so this model arrives ahead of the real service.
