Spain took delivery of 60 single-seat F-18As between 1985 and 1990 and later added 24 ex-US Navy aircraft. Locally designated C.15, the Hornets fly both all-weather intercept and ground attack missions. Ala 12's cat emblem nods to the "gatos" nickname for people from Madrid.
