Tarmac Designs 1:400 Norfolk International Airport ATC Tower (ORF)

Tarmac Designs captures the Norfolk International Airport control tower in exacting 1:400 scale. Built by the FAA in 1995 and standing 134 feet tall, the tower handles roughly 1,100 aircraft movements a day, every day of the year. ORF began life in 1938 as a converted city golf course and was pressed into service by the Army Air Corps during World War II before its 1974 terminal opened and the airport took its present name in 1976.

With Naval Station Norfolk — the world's largest naval base — just miles away, ORF has always lived between the sea and the sky. A fitting centerpiece for Hampton Roads, military aviation, or East Coast airport displays.
